CEO and Founder

Steve Rimar is a data analytics expert, technology evangelist, entrepreneur, and engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the software engineering, business intelligence, and IT industries. Steve has earned multiple honors including being published in CNN, NBC, Investor’s Business Daily, InformationWeek, Accenture’s Annual Report, Qualcomm’s Report About People and holds two U.S. patents. Steve’s experience and industry recognition within the data analytics field provided him the opportunity to found Analytica Consulting in 2014.

Jennifer De La Cruz

Senior Director of Analytics

As Senior Director of Analytics, Jennifer manages Analytica’s consulting organization and is responsible for the delivery of all client projects. She is an accomplished data analytics professional with over 25 years of experience in consulting and industry. Jennifer holds a master’s degree in data science and engineering from UC San Diego, an MBA from Wharton, and a master’s degree in engineering from Stanford University. She is also certified as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

Jennifer has a passion for using statistics and data science to solve complex, high-value business problems. Her experience spans a range of functions including financial management, process improvement, operations management, product development and product quality. Jennifer’s industry strengths lie in information systems, financial services, healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, and insurance.

Clifton Leung

Senior Director of Finance & Operations

Clifton is an accomplished Finance and Operations executive with over 17 years of expertise working for large consulting firms such as Deloitte and PWC. He has expertise specializing in strategic and financial advisory, business operations process redesign, and advancing high performing teams. Clifton holds an MBA in Finance and Management Science from the University of California Irvine and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Northeastern University.

Clifton excels at restructuring business processes, leading the implementation of complex financial procedures to optimize resources, driving analytical support and execution of business development initiatives, and partnering with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives. He has a dynamic professional background with experience across industry verticals, including Consumer Products, Technology, Financial Services, Healthcare, Energy & Utilities, Entertainment, and Telecom.

Brent Johnson

Director of Analytics

Brent is a seasoned business intelligence executive and data visualization expert with over 15 years of experience and an MBA from UC Davis. He is a Tableau Certified Professional and is proficient with several platforms including Microsoft, Tableau, Salesforce, Cognos, and Denodo.

Brent has deep expertise in the public health, healthcare, vision, pharmaceutical, and biomedical research industries. He helps clients utilize their data to improve decision-making and increase efficiency. He has garnered extensive experience managing numerous government agency data projects for the the States of California and Nebraska. He has also managed implementations at several commercial Fortune 500 organizations including Pfizer, Illumina and Qualcomm.

Laura POWELL

Associate Director of Finance & Operations

As an Associate Director, Laura serves as a project manager for several multi-year state and local government engagements, while also managing key operational functions of the business including financial analysis, forecasting, business development, and HR compliance. Laura joined Analytica in 2021 after an 8 year career in various back-office roles at Goldman Sachs in NYC. She supported various divisions during her time at GS, and most recently managed bespoke Physical Commodities arrangements for the Structured Finance Desk, overseeing client relationships and critical processes including contract reviews, reconciliations, model creation, process enhancements, and reporting. 

Laura holds a B.A. in Economics and Psychology from Bucknell University and is a PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Her expertise lies in project management, risk mitigation, and providing exceptional client service. With a commitment to excellence, she is dedicated to driving success and efficiency in every project she undertakes.

 

Josh Karpen

Principal Lead Consultant

Josh holds a Master of Science in Data Analytics from Northwestern University, and a Data Mining Certification from University of California, San Diego. He is an expert in data modeling, data visualization and predictive analytics. He has expertise and certifications in many data analysis tools and platforms including Tableau, Denodo, Microsoft, R, SAS, Python, and SPSS.

Josh’s domain expertise spans multiple domains including Public Health, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Development and Insurance.

Jun Lee

Principal Lead Consultant

Jun is a data analysis expert and BI tools specialist with expertise in Qlik, Tableau, Microsoft BI, JReport, D3, and various other software. He has extensive knowledge in software development, having developed in C, C++, Java, Python, R, SQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript and various related frameworks/IDE’s.

Jun has domain expertise within the biotech, media and entertainment, product development, software, finance, public health, and manufacturing industries.

Thomas Mackay

Principal Lead Data Engineer

Thomas is a certified Qlik developer, engineer and business process specialist. He also has extensive experience in several analytics platforms such as Tableau and Spotfire. He holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Process Management and a Bachelor’s of Engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

Thomas has served as the development lead on several client projects including UCSD Health, DJO Global, Sony, and Illumina. He has over 10 years of experience in IT, engineering and business intelligence.

Michael Marks

Principal Lead Data Scientist

Michael has 10+ years of experience in data analytics and holds a M.S. in Information and Data Science from University of California, Berkeley. He has expertise in several data analytics platforms and programming languages including R, SQL, Python, Microsoft (SQL Server & SSIS), Tableau, Qlik, R Shiny and D3.js.

Michael has domain expertise in several areas including healthcare analytics, agile project management, human-centered data product design, machine learning, multivariate statistics and simulation modeling.

Jake is an experienced data analyst and engineer with expertise in developing analytics applications that are accessible to both technical and non-technical business users.

Jake has expertise with several analytics platforms including Tableau, Qlik and Microsoft BI suite and has worked with various data sources ranging from relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL), commercial applications (Salesforce, Oracle) and custom software. Jake has presented to community leaders, city officials, and executives of respected companies.

Carl holds an MBA from the University of Illinois and is an expert at distilling actionable business insights from complex data sources. His expertise spans a variety of data analysis platforms and languages including Spotfire, Tableau, Qlik, Denodo, SQL, R, and Python.

Carl’s experience in data analytics and data strategy covers multiple sectors including the semiconductor, equipment maintenance, manufacturing, education, and insurance industries.

Daniel Molitor

Daniel has more than 8 years of experience in providing data analytics and data strategy solutions in numerous business sectors. He holds a dual Bachelor’s of Science degree from Purdue University, and studied Advanced Mathematics at UC Berkeley.

James holds a master’s degree in data science and engineering and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of San Diego. James is a seasoned software engineer, data analytics expert, and data engineer whose 10+ years of experience spans a wide range of technologies including Python, Javascript, C, GO, SQL, D3, CSS, HTML, and various related frameworks.
